A Very Bad Cold

Mina has a very bad cold today

Her nose is red

She coughs and coughs

"I will take you to the doctor," her dad says

Then the doctor looks into her ears

The doctor said, "Open your mouth

Mina coughs and coughs

"You have a very bad cold," says the doctor

"I will give you a shot," he says

"Mina must go home and rest," the doctor tells Mina's dad

Mina rests and rests

She begins to feel a little better

She stops coughing

"My very bad cold is gone," says Mina

"Now we can go outside and play," says Mina

"No," says her dad. "Now I have a very bad cold!"

When Mary Smith was a student, she always wanted to become a teacher, because she liked children. When she was twenty-one years old, she began teaching in a small school. She was a good teacher, and she laughed a lot with the children in her class. They enjoyed her teaching.
One day one of the girls in her class said to her, " Miss Smith,why does a man's hair become gray before his mustache and beard do?"
Mary laughed and answered, "I don't know, Helen. why does it become gray before his mustache and beard do?"
" I don't know either, Miss Smith," answered Helen, "but it happened to my father." The other children in the class laughed when they heard this.
Then one of the boys said, " I know, Miss Smith! Men's hair becomes gray first because it's sixteen years older than their mustaches and beards."

Mr. Jones moved to another town, and soon he needed a new doctor, so he went to see one. He sat in the waiting room and looked around. The doctor's degrees were on the wall. Where did the voices go

?

There was once a little boy who told tales about absolutely everything. Whenever anyone asked who had done this, or who had said that, the little boy jumped up and shouted out the guilty person's name

At his school the children ended up never speaking to each other; they were tired of the little boy using their words to tell tales. Because they no longer spoke, the children started to lose their voices, until no one could say anything at all

This made things very boring for the little boy. He was left on his own, feeling lonely, and the others resented him for being the cause of everyone losing their voice
