Mr. and Mrs. Wilson lived in a big crowded city, and one summer they took a vacation in the country. They enjoyed it very much, because it was a quiet, clean place and very different from the city.
One day they went for a walk early in the morning and met an old man. He lived on a farm, and he was sitting alone in the warm sun outside his front door. Mr. Wilson asked him, " Do you like living in such a quiet place?"

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Say: He, Allah, is one

He begets not, nor is He begotten

And none is like Him

طُوبی لِمَن شَغَلَهُ عَیبُهَ عَن عَیَوبِ النّاسِ

خوشا آن کس که پرداختن به عیب خویش او را از پرداختن به عیوب خلق باز دارد

ای ندانسته تو شرّ و خیر را           امتحان خود را کن آنگه غیر را

امتحان خود چو کردی ای فلان        فارغ آیی ز امتحان دیگران

HAPPY is the person who finds fault with himself instead of finding fault with others

O you who never understood good and evil

Examine yourself first, then turn to others

If you have examined yourself

You will be freed from examining others

فقیهی پدر را گفت: " هیچ از این سخنان دلاویز متکلمان در من اثر نمی کند, به علت آنکه نمی بینم ایشان را کرداری موافق گفتار ".

ترک دنیا به مردم آموزند                    خویشتن سیم و غله اندوزند

عالمی را که گفت باشد و بس              هر چه گوید نگیرد اندر کس

عالم آن کس بود که بد نکند                 نه بگوید به خلق و خود نکند

A lawyer said to his father, " Those fine speeches of the declaimers make no impression on me, because I do not see their actions correspond with their precepts

They teach people to forsake the world,whilst themselves accumulate property 

A wise man who preaches without practicing will not impress others

That person is wise who abstaineth from sin, not he who teacheth good to others whilst himself commiteth evil

اطلبوا العلم و لو بالصین

علم را طلب کنید هر چند در ولایت چین باشد

Seek out knowledge even if you have to take a long journey to China

نظم ار چه به مرتبت بلند است         آن علم طلب که سودمند است

پیغمبر گفت "علم علمان:                علم الادیان و علم الابدان "

در ناف دو علم بوی طیب است          وان هر دو فقیه یا طبیب است

می باش طبیب عیسوی هش           اما نه طبیب آدمی کش

می باش فقیه طاعت اندوز               اما نه نفقیه حیلت آموز

گر هر دو شوی بلند گردی               نزد همه ارجمند گردی

Although poetry be of high dignity

Seek thou the knowledge of what is useful

The Prophet hath said " The science of sciences

Is the science of matter and the science of faith

Is the navel of each is a fragrant odour

In that of the law, and in that of medicine

Endeavour to be a physician with life-giving breath of Jesus

Not the one that puts people to death

Let the law instruct thee in the service of God

Let it not be to thee a teacher of sophistries

If thou become an adept in both

Thou will have reached the summit of excellence

And wilt be held in high estimation in the sight of all men

الحکمة ضالََّةُ الموءمن اینما وجدها اخذها

دانش و حکمت, شتر گمشده اهل ایمان است که هر کجا بیابند آن را بگیرند

Knowledge is the stray camel of the believers
